About This Web Site
Bismillah irRahman irRaheem
Assalaamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatu Sisters!
In Oman, they call me "Oum Abdul-Aziz", which means "Mother of Abdul-Aziz". (Abdul-Aziz is my oldest son.) Though I grew up in America, I now live here in Oman with my Omani husband and our dear children. I embraced Islam as my religion and way of life sixteen years ago, and I believe with all my heart that there is no God other than the one true God, Allah. Nothing besides Allah is worthy of prayer or devotion. I believe that Mohammed (peace be upon him) was a Prophet of Allah, sent to guide mankind back to true monotheism, and I look to his life as an example of how Muslims should live.
I developed this web site to honor the women I have met here in Oman, to share the true teachings of Mohammed (peace be upon him), and to befriend other Western women who have moved to the Arab World or are considering such a move. I was inspired by the clear and beautiful Omani night sky to choose these graphics for this opening page...not to mention the fact that Moon watching is one of our favorite family hobbies.
Please, make yourself at home here, look around to get a glimpse of our lifestyle of choice, and don't forget to sign my guest book to let me know that you have visited!
Sincerely, Oum Abdul Aziz
